Is Popeyes Chicken Sandwich really that awesome and good?
Well all of us can agree on the fact that Popeyes’ sandwich is good. Apparently, really really tasty and good. According to the New Yorker , it’s the awesome sandwich that is going to “save America.” But unfortunately for some of the folks, Popeyes has confirmed that the new chicken sandwich is not available at many of the base Canadian locations yet.
Popeyes chicken sandwich calories Homemade Recipe
To make Popeyes chicken sandwich at home you will need:
chicken breasts
buttermilk
flour
corn starch
spices
brioche buns
To get the full size of the fillet: throw each chicken breast down about 1/2 inch thick and cut half crosswise so you end up cutting the chicken about the size of your buns.
Making 5 Minute Buttermilk:
Using buttermilk gives the chicken a true southern flavor and helps the crust develop all those tiny particles that make it even harder. If you do not have buttermilk at home, make sure that making your own butter at home is very easy and done in 5 minutes. Put one cup of milk and 1 teaspoon lemon juice or white vinegar in a bowl and let stand for 5 minutes until the milk comes.
Cornstarch:
Cornstarch helps to make the crust look even better and brighter than just beating the chicken with flour. I highly recommend using it for good results but If you do not have cornstarch at home, return more flour and add 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
Bun:
Using brioche buns takes this sandwich to the next level and will replicate the taste and texture of the Popeyes chicken sandwich.
To make a delicious mayo drink:
Combine 1/2 cup mayo with 1 teaspoon hot sauce, a teaspoon of paprika or taco spice, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and whisk. The sauce is delicious in a chicken dish and is used to make a bitter version of the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich.
